Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of autodng.com and its tools, including the brand name generator, domain valuation engine, trademark risk screen, VC brand score, social handle checker, and premium domain listings (together, the Service). By using the Service you agree to them.
1. What the Service is
autoDNG is a research and ideation tool. It generates candidate brand names and provides algorithmic signals to help you shortlist them. It runs entirely in your browser and does not create an account for you.
Critical limitation — please read. autoDNG does not perform legal clearance. Its trademark risk indicators, availability scores, and valuation figures are automated estimates produced by heuristics and AI models. They are not a trademark search, not a legal opinion, and not a professional appraisal. Before you adopt, register, or purchase any name or domain, you must obtain independent verification from a qualified trademark attorney and confirm registration status with an accredited registrar.
2. Names generated are yours to pursue
autoDNG claims no ownership of names produced through the Service, and grants you no exclusive rights in them either. Generated names are algorithmic output: the same or a similar name may be produced for another user, and a name may already be in use or protected by a third party anywhere in the world.
Whether you can lawfully use a name is entirely your responsibility to determine.
3. Domain availability is indicative only
Availability indicators come from public RDAP and DNS lookups, which can be stale, rate-limited, incomplete, or unsupported for some extensions. A name shown as available may in fact be registered, reserved, premium-priced, or blocked by registry policy. Only your registrar's checkout can confirm availability and price. We are not affiliated with, and receive no direction from, any registrar we link to.
4. Valuation figures are not financial advice
Any valuation, appraisal, score, or price estimate is a model output for orientation only. It is not an offer, a guarantee of resale value, or investment advice. Do not rely on it as the sole basis for buying or selling a domain.
5. Your API key and your costs
AI features require you to supply your own provider API key. You are responsible for:
- All usage charges your provider bills you for.
- Keeping your key secure and within your provider's terms of use.
- Complying with the acceptable-use policy of whichever provider you select.
As set out in our Privacy Policy, we never receive your key. We are not liable for provider charges, outages, rate limits, or content returned by third-party models.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Deliberately generate names intended to infringe, dilute, or pass off as an existing brand.
- Scrape, overload, or automate the Service in a way that degrades it for others.
- Break any applicable law, or any third-party service's terms, through the Service.
7. Consulting services and payment
Paid brand naming advisory is a separate engagement. Enquiries submitted through the site are quotes, not binding contracts; scope, fees, and delivery are confirmed by email before work starts. Payment is by bank transfer after confirmation, and no payment details are collected on this website. Refund terms for a given engagement are those stated in that engagement's written confirmation.
8. Availability
The Service is provided free and as-is, with no uptime commitment. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of it at any time. Third-party dependencies (AI providers, RDAP, DNS, hosting) may fail independently of us.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, autoDNG and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, nor for lost profits, lost business, rebranding costs, legal costs, or lost domain opportunities, arising from your use of the Service. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim — which, for the free tools, is zero.
11. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify autoDNG against claims arising from your adoption or commercial use of any name, domain, or output obtained through the Service.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms; the date above will change. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
